Routine tests
Thousands of animal samples of Trichinella sp, Cysticercosis, Clonorchis sinensis, Toxoplasma, Cryptosporidium from the provincial Centre for Animal Disease Control and Prevention (Jilin Province) are analysed each year and confirmed by Institute of Zoonoses, Jilin University. Since 2008, the lab has analyzed more than 6000 samples and made hundreds isolations of parasites from pigs, dogs, fishes, water, and also human.
-Molecular tests: Gel based RT-PCR assay (for genotyping of Trichinella spiralis, Clonorchis sinensis, Toxoplasmaand Cryptopsoridium from Meat-borne, Fish and shellfish borne (More than 1000 tests/year).
-Serological tests: Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (More than 2000 tests/year).
- An authority application to collect samples of food-born parasites from all provinces of China has been submitted to the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture. With authority, OIE Collaborating Center on Foodborne Parasites in Asian-Pacific Region will have the ability to collect samples of Trichinella sp, Cysticercosis, Clonorchis sinensis, Toxoplasma, and Cryptosporidium from all over China. The branch centers located in Shanghai, Beijing, Haerbin, Zhengzhou, Lanzhou and Nanning can collect samples from its neiborhood provinces, the link between the five cities and their neiborhood provincial animal CDCs is indicated below on the map.
